It's raining here today and will be in the mid 70's for a high. Meanwhile my family in AL got snow last night and took beautiful pictures! But here in Florida, it's just rain. I enjoyed my coffee even more this morning to get myself awake feeling. It is darker than usual because of the rain.
I looked on www.polyvore.com and found some "sets" to share today. There are some very talented people there, with the way they put things together! My sets are usually simple since I don't like to spend a lot of time on them.

Fashion Inspiration: Blouses with jeans or a skirt
Just a lot of inspiration today. I know not everyone in the world has the same tastes, but these are the kind of things that inspire me fashion-wise. Pretty shirts can go with both skirts or jeans. Depending on what you need to wear them to, you pair a shirt with a simple yet nice skirt for a work environment or with jeans for a casual every day look.

Fashion inspiration

Some Fun Fashion Inspiration
A couple of weeks ago I posted polyvore sets made by other people that were inspired by TV shows and movies.So I got the idea Thursday night to create a new set of my own, inspired by Jane Austen's books. So I think of this as a new way to dress like they would in those days! I even googled some info about shoes to make sure it matched up somewhat with the style of the day. This was just fun to do. I hope you enjoy looking at it!
A blog I check out all the time is found paper co. I love the "affordable treats" feature and I always find something new to mark as a favorite on Etsy because of it. So I clicked the link for a mug that was in the feature and in the Etsy shop found even more goodies. They had to do with Jane Austen's writings. I mentioned before that I haven't actually read her books(hangs head in shame), but I love the movie versions.
This dishtowel went onto my favorites list!!

Fashionable Friday :TV/Movie Inspiration
I wanted to share some fun fashion inspiration influenced by TV and Movies.
First: Gilmore Girls! I loved that show so much. I miss it! Once in awhile I catch a rerun and still find it so entertaining. While there was drama, there was also a lot of cute and quirky comedy. Lines I will never forget. If you watched it, you'll know about Kirk. Good ol' Kirk. Without him the show wouldn't have been the same!
But moving on to the fashion aspect now. Me, my mom, sis and friends always admired their wardrobe but also wondered how did they afford those clothes? But anyway, I found their style influential for me even if I couldn't really emulate it. And their love(or obsession!) of coffee was always entertaining!
I have fun on Polyvore sometimes creating looks. But today I am sharing looks created by others. I simply did a search and found such fun creations!

A movie with fashion that I found adorable was Penelope. I just love that movie. When she had the pig nose, I didn't think she was ugly. Me and a friend recently talked about it(yes we actually discussed her nose!) and agreed that when her nose was made small and normal again, she just looked weird! We missed the pig nose, a sentiment shared in the movie by some characters! She pulled it off so well. Her eyes were the main focus.

Reasons I love Anthropologie
I would love all of these items in my kitchen! I don't go to an Anthropologie store very often- maybe a couple times a year. But when I get the chance to go, I have the most fun looking at all the housewares. Not really the clothing. I can't really fit into the clothing and it's so pricey. But sometimes you can find great deals on clothing and gorgeous housewares/kitchenwares, etc. Once in awhile I look at their website's sale section, and you can find some good deals. I want to visit their store again soon. The closest is about an hour away.

On one of those recent silly quizzes we all take on facebook and other places, one question asked where would you max out your credit card? Well, I wouldn't choose to max out my card anywhere. But if I HAD to choose somewhere anyway, it might at Anthropologie, buying all items for my house. Since I am the bargain shopper type, I don't see myself buying anything expensive from there though. But it's all so pretty!!!

Saturday Night: Dresses
I never wear a dress these days. I would like to have something to wear a dress to sometimes. But I am definitely not the type who wants to wear a dress every day. I like my jeans. I can dress up jeans with a nice shirt and accessories. But still, if I had a good reason to wear a pretty dress, it would be fun.
So I found some dresses on polyvore to share.
The first set is just all around cute in my opinion. I'd like to have all these items.
I would hope this dress above looked cute ON. Sometimes you can't tell unless you try it on, right? The dress you think you'd like the most may look horrible on you, while a dress you hardly noticed at first looks great. It's a tricky thing!
This next set is dresses that may not be very exciting but they are the type of dresses I might try on for a couple of reasons. I think they would be flattering. They seem like they'd hang away from the body slightly to cover over the not so lovely areas! The material looks like a more stiff cotton, which also hangs better on me and hides things that NEED hiding! Look at that cute bird necklace too...
I bought a dress made out of jean material like the one in the middle once for a casual wedding. It hung very nicely! So that's why I put that in there.
As for this weekend so far...
Today we saw some friends I hadn't seen in awhile, who had never met my husband yet! Living in separate states and other timing issues always seemed to come in the way of them meeting my hubby. So they met and I think they got along well! It's too bad they live all the way in Ohio now! We had a very nice time. :)

Girly Plaid

I'm loving the plaid look with feminine details. All the above shirts are from Forever21 and Faith21(the extended sizes section of Forever21 which is newer!!). I don't actually own any of these, but I want to!! I think my favorite is the shirt on the lower left side. I wanted to go see what the Faith21 section of Forever21 was like in a Tampa mall, but we also went to IKEA that day and were too tired to go to another large shopping area. So I still have to get there sometime. It's about an hour away from where I live.
I have more things to post today but I will have to come in a little while to post them. Need to do some Kavi(son) related things and get myself ready for the day, too! :)

Getting ideas out of my head and onto to the table
I have a new poll here on my blog, over there on the right! I'd really appreciate if people could give me some input by taking the poll and if you have any comments, feel free to leave them here. I also wanted to say that I am so happy everytime a new person decides to follow this blog. Thank you so much!
It can take me a long time, sometimes, to get the many ideas I have to turn into real, started projects. One reason is because I am a mom with a 15 month old son, and while I can think about projects while I am taking care of him, I can't always sit down and actually start them. I need to get a better schedule going during the week for me and Kavi. I need to maybe set aside certain times for making things and then try to not worry about it the rest of the time. Right now, my mind can go crazy at times with the thinking part and then not being able to accomplish a lot of it. It gets frustrating.
I have a lot of pillow ideas-for appliqued pillows and pillow covers(which I haven't really tried making for selling yet and I want to).
I also am planning to open a second Etsy shop, even though I think I am a little crazy for wanting to have two shops to keep up with right now. But I am going to be moving my pillows and sewing projects over to my new name thecozynest.etsy.com. Right now it's just an ID, not made into a store yet. But I will be doing that soon. That is another reason for my pillow sale on etsy right now. In the new store I hope to sell a variety of pillow covers along with the small pillows I make. Possibly tote bags too, we will see.

I like the calm gray accents next to the bright yellows.
Lemons are so refreshing. I think during my pregnancy, the scent of fresh citrus was very soothing to me. I still love the smell of real lemon in things.
