Flashback Friday

As it says on the photo, this picture is from Feb 14th 2008. Kavi was 2 weeks old. :) What a little little baby. He weighed 6 lbs 2 oz at birth and even though he seemed small I still ended up with a c-section after really long back labor. So I was still healing up from that in this picture, and getting used to being a mom and not getting enough sleep. It was a very wonderful time but also a very hard time for me. I felt overwhelmed, really overwhelmed, for the first 3 weeks. I think it was hormones - the baby blues. But a weight seemed to lift from my shoulders when he was around 3 weeks old and I finally felt like yes I could do this job of being a mom. I always wanted to be a mom, I longed to be a mom, but I did find it very overwhelming to go from caring for myself to caring for another life that was entirely dependent on me.

This Sunday we are celebrating his 2nd birthday! Wow has life changed. I have learned so much about being a mother since this picture. So I just wanted to share!! :) Motherhood not an easy task at all and I sometimes wonder if I am a wimp at motherhood because I will feel tired and worn down sometimes. But I think most moms must feel that! :) I know I will become a more experienced mom with passing of time.

The pictures from when our babies are so small and new to the world, are priceless. I look back at the pictures of my Eleanore, and remember who I was, and how being a mother has changed my entire overall being. I truly believed that she gave me a purpose, and as our family grows, my life gains more and more meaning.

2 years old already. The time goes by so so quickly. What a proud Mama you are :)

Are there plans for any siblings??

My little guy turns 2 in February! I look back at his baby pictures and can't even imagine he is the same person...well, except that he still has a TON of hair.

With my first, I don't think the whole reality of mommyhood sunk in until she was about 8 weeks old!
